It is not obvious to newcomers how to run this software

If someone shows up and wants to play with this thing, what do they do? A Haskell programmer might recognize the Stack configuration files and be able to figure it out but it could be a lot easier for everyone else. Also, what do we expect users to be able to do with the software? That is a bit harder to determine, even for someone versed in the tools we're using.
